Find out more about Ringwood
Previously the main market town for the whole of the New Forest, Ringwood's busy streets have seen many a barter throughout the centuries. With its trading charter dating back to 1226, this clearly made for thirsty work, as Ringwood once had the highest population of pubs per head in olde England!
Since Medieval times beer has been in plentiful supply to the area, as the River Avon and surrounding barley, has lent itself perfectly to brewing. Paying homage to this heritage, and helping to water locals since 1978, Ringwood Brewery (open for tours) is the well-known and loved modern supplier of ales such as Old Thumper and Boon Doggle.
The River Avon is a great source of entertainment in more ways than one. Take in the scenic sights from its three-arched stone bridge or wander on the Avon Valley Path that links up to other New Forest villages and towns on a 34 mile route.
If you want to rest and relax, Ringwood has a great selection of places to eat, drink and shop, and the bustling Wednesday morning market is well worth a visit!
The South's first Cable Wakeboard System & the UK's first Wibit Inflatable Sports Aqua Park! Have fun wakeboarding or kneeboarding on their 2 cable systems, or play on the 55 meter long, floating, inflatable Aqua Park which has 2 trampolines and more.
