There is an action packed calendar of events in the New Forest running throughout the year so you are guaranteed to find something that appeals during your visit!

With lots of family & child-friendly activities and events run in the New Forest throughout school holidays, there is also a huge array of celebrations for adults to enjoy!

November 2018

Firework Night
Saturday 3rd November
With numerous displays all accross the New Forest, Firework Night is a great time to visit. Beaulieu hosts one of the largest firework displays in the South, whilst smaller displays such as the one at Strawberry Fields in Lymington are smaller and more intimate.

December 2018

New Forest Christmas Fair
1st-2nd December
The New Forest Christmas Fair 2018 is taking place at Exbury Gardens and is a traditional family day out, full of local produce and gifts and festive atmosphere.

Visit Father Christmas
Father Christmas and his Elves will be popping up all over the New Forest and distributing presents to children ahead of Christmas. You can see him at Paultons Park, Stewarts Garden Centre in Christchurch, Longdown Dairy Farm, and at Otters Nursery in Lymington to name just a few places..

Christmas Illuminations at Beaulieu
Selected dates between 23rd November - 30th December
Experience the new magical, after-dark, illuminated trail through the grounds and gardens of the Beaulieu visitor attraction this Christmas.

January Sales
A great time to visit the New Forest and pick up a bargain.
The larger towns of Christchurch, Bournemouth, Southampton and Salisbury are also close b, so you can shop until you drop and then retreat back to the New Forest for some rest and relaxation.

Bird Watching Walks

The Festival evokes a sense of community pride and attracts over 70,000 visitors who experience a culinary adventure.

Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival
31st May - 2nd June 2019
The festival is a community event run entirely by volunteers, we are nationally recognised and attract thousands of visitors to the Island.

A one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight, which regularly attracts over 1,400 boats and around 15,000 sailors, making it one of the largests yacht races in the world!

Curious Arts Festival
19th - 21st July 2019
Curious is a festival like no other. Taking place each July in the breathtaking grounds of Pylewell Park, it is dreamy, eccentric, fun and ultimately, irresistible.

New Forest Folk Festival
3rd - 7th July 2019
Already labelled as one of the friendliest festivals, it’s small, intimate and run by Nick, Keith, Helen and their families on their little farm in Plaitford on the edge of the New Forest.

Cowes Week

Cowes Week is one of the largest yachting regattas in the world, it's been running since 1826 and now attracts over 1000 yachts and up to 8000 racers from all over the world.

Hythe Market
Every Tuesday, 9:00 - 16:00
The Tuesday Street market takes place between 9am and 4pm every Tuesday and is located in the high Street in Hythe.

Ringwood Market
Every Wednesday, 8:00 - 16:30
Ringwood market has been taking place every Wednesday since 1226! Farm produce and general wares are still sold today.

Fordingbridge Country Market
Every Friday, 09:30 - 11:30

Romsey Markets

Ringwood market has been taking place every Wednesday since 1226! Farm produce and general wares are still sold today. Takes place between 8:00 - 16:30.

Salisbury Charter Market
Every Tuesday & Saturday, 9:00 - 16:00
Salisbury charter market takes place in the historic market place. At the market you'll find fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, clothing, furniture and homeware items as well as a local farmers' market section. The market square also hosts various other specialist markets throughout the year, from foody fridays to vintage markets.
